Special Notes

  • IL pain often stems from compression (e.g. nerve)
  • Eliminate shoulder muscles to differentiate between the neck muscles that attach on the spine or trunk from those attached to the scapula by passively elevating the shoulder
  • Repeat test and check whether the restriction still exists
  • If the answer is no, then it is likely that either upper trapezius or levator scapulae caused the restriction
